Imagine Dizzee Rascal’s “I Luv U” being covered by Phil Elverum and you have Becoming Real’s “Get Hype.” It’s not exactly dubstep nor is it creepy folk but it definitely is not neither of them either. Like Salem’s crusted crunk simulacra, this music is a bad idea made good by someone both really smart and fortunately talented.
